Swinside Shawlette Kit — Goldfinch
This shawlette is really easy, being knitted in garter stitch with a simple picot style fringe edging. Two versions are given in the pattern — either a symmetrical version or an asymmetrical one; your choice will depend on how you like to wrap it around! It is knitted in 4-ply bluefaced leicester wool, with a little nylon for durability, and is quick and easy to complete. You can choose between the Signature 4-ply bird wools, as shown below. The kits contain 100g pure British wool in your selected shade, along with instructions. If you prefer a plain colour, simply email us and we can organise that for you too.
To knit the shawlette you will need a 3.5 mm circular needle which gives more length to contain the increasing number of stitches as you work up the shawlette. This shawlette is not knitted in the round; instead either end of the needle is used as if a pair of straight needles. A larger needle, e.g. 4.5 mm, is recommended when casting off to ensure a loose edge.
