Wasdale Hat & Scarf pattern
Simple pattern suitable for those with just a little experience!
This hat and scarf design coordinates with Sheepfold’s Wasdale Warmers fingerless mittens kit. The snuggly fitting hat comes in several sizes suitable for a junior to a larger adult. Instructions are given for the smallest size with variations where needed for the larger sizes in brackets. The scarf is made on a larger size of needle to give a softer fabric.
Yarn:
Aran weight wool. Sheepfold’s beautifully soft Bluefaced Leicester wool was used in the photographed example.
Quantity:
Approximately 100g to 150g for the hat and approx 300g for scarf, or 400g for both.
Needles:
For hat — 4mm circular needle, 60 cm long, and 4 mm double pointed needles.
For scarf — 5mm straight needles.
Also needed:
Stitch marker
Sewing needle to close crown of hat and weave in ends
